Here are ten post-game notes from the second contest, this one was in downtown Los Angeles...
* Slava Voynov looked strong throughout the game. He scored the Kings only goal in regulation (a power play marker at 5:53 of the second).
* Voynov had five shots, trailing only Dustin Brown and the Coyotes Patrick O'Sullivan (six) for most in the game.
* Coach Terry Murray on the play of Voynov - "I thought Voynov had a very good game. He’s got great awareness on the ice, with or without the puck. I wish he would sometimes shoot the puck a little bit more at times, but he has great composure."
* Jack Johnson played a whopping 32 minutes in the game. Voynov and Rob Scuderi had the second most on the team, around 24 minutes.
* Kyle Clifford led all LA players with 11 penalty minutes, including five minutes for fighting Ryan Hollweg in the second period. The Colonel lost the scrap.
* Jonathan Quick played the first 40 minutes of the game and stopped 12 of 13 shots faced. Martin Jones was in for the third and stopped all nine shots thrown at him in regulation.
* Brett Hextall was relatively quite for the Coyotes after going off against the Kings twice last week. Here, he was playing for the second consecutive night in SoCal, having faced the Ducks last night. Hextall played just over 10 minutes total and took two shots.
* Two Norton Sports clients scored back-to-back in the shootout - first Brown, then Andy Miele. Brown's goal was set up with a nifty stick handle that created a stutter move, a shot and a goal. Oliver Ekman-Larsson put the game away for the Coyotes 2-1.
* Brown on playing with Richards for the first time in a competitive setting - "It was good. He’s really easy to read off of. We had some good shots. First shift of the night we were peppering the goalie. We had some good chemistry out there."
* Thomas Hickey played just over 11 minutes, with most of them coming in the first two periods. He had a goal waived off in the first period when Clifford was called for goaltender interference. After the game, Murray said - "Hickey wasn’t bad, he was more physical than any other time I’ve ever seen him."
