Through the first month of the season, and a total of 11 games played, the Kings have compiled a 6-3-2. They sit second in the Pacific Division and fourth in the Western Conference standings. They've also allowed the second fewest goals (22), as only Edmonton is better (letting in just 18).
Taking a look at a few other stats - the rank 23rd in goals scored per game (2.36), the power play is converting 23.1% of the time (fourth best in the NHL) and the penalty kill is ranked ninth (86.1%).
Their recent numbers in the faceoff circle have helped push their season average up to 49.1% (now 18th out of of 30 teams). Last year they finished 10th best with, winning 51.1% of draws taken.
