Sponsor Spotlight: Glass Bangers hockey t-shirts

Since the early part of this season, the popular MayorsManor 'First Goal Game' has been sponsored by GlassBangers.com, where by one random winner of the game night contest receives a free t-shirt of their choice from the Glass Bangers collection.

For those unfamiliar with the Glass Bangers story, it might not be too unfamiliar to something you and a few of your friends would have done.

Based, in Seattle, WA, the company is run by a several "Joes" and “Josephines,” just a few buddies who love the game of hockey. They often try to focus on the funny side of the sport - with shirts featuring sayings like 'Fighting Solves Everything,' 'I love hockey moms,' and 'My hockey mom will beat up your soccer mom.'

Their stated goal is to offer up clever and funny hockey t-shirts that any fan, player, coach or goon can wear. When your favorite jersey is being washed, they've got just the shirt to keep you covered.

In addition to their comedy collection, be sure to check out their old WHA t-shirts - including the Indianapolis Racers (Wayne Gretzky's team before the Oilers), the LA Sharks (yes, LA had them before San Jose) and the New York Raiders (one of the founding members of the WHA, who used to share MSG with the Rangers).

Brown Gets 2, Kings 1, NYR Wins (w/ MSG video)

Rolling, rolling, rolling.

Another game, another point for the LA Kings. That's 11 straight now without a loss in regulation (8-0-3). And just one shy of a dozen games in a row with at least a point.

Credit to the Kings for coming back twice to tie the game in the third period. However, overtime is becoming a habit. After only reaching the extra frame six times in the first 49 games, last night made it six OTs in the last nine. They need more offense. Not really new news though, right?

Dustin Brown - who talked about playing in his native New York and at MSG in this pregame article yesterday - had his most productive night in quite some time, picking up a pair of goals. It still wasn't enough to earn him a shot in the shootout though.

In an interesting note, an NHL.com writer commented last night "I don't get to see the Kings enough anymore, but it seems like Dustin Brown is more instinctive/comfortable/dangerous on the left side."

Happy Anniversary Dean Lombardi

Kings fans are very familiar with the key moments in franchise history - Robitaille winning the Calder Trophy, Gretzky traded to LA, Doughty being drafted...and so many more.

Rarely does the hiring of a General Manager stand out for an organization. Key dates are usually reserved for incredible achievements of the players themselves.

However, today is an exception...

On this day - April 21st - back in 2006, the Kings took a monumental step forward. They went out and hired a well respected leader, a man with a distinct vision for what the organization needed from top to bottom. He was determined to put his stamp on each component of the organization that he believed will ultimately bring a Stanley Cup to Los Angeles.

He's largely been an open book for people following the team, explaining his thought process every step of the way. He hasn't hid from criticism when people don't agree with his moves. He's also been quick to share any praise when his staff, especially with his right hand man Ron Hextall. He's believed in the current group of players every step of the way. He's taught most Kings fans to be patient...and he must be smiling with the Kings FINALLY back in the playoffs.

Today we celebrate...with IN DEAN WE TRUST Day here at MayorsManor.

4's All Around

The Kings took care of business last night, putting four goals up on the Blue Jackets in Columbus for their fourth win in a row.

In their next game they'll be taking on the Bruins - who just so happen to be winless in their last four. Game time in Boston will be 4pm PST Saturday afternoon.

So, hey, if they can rally around the four, so can we...

How about four days of savings at the MayorsManor store?

We debuted our IN DEAN WE TRUST t-shirts last month and the response has been strong. If you didn't get one during our holiday sale, now is your chance. For the next four days you can save 15% on your order.

Since 1967 the Kings have been past the second round of the playoffs just one time...and it was more than 15 years ago! FINALLY - the team has a GM with not only a vision, but a plan that he's committed to seeing through. It looks like the perpetual rebuilding plan of the last 10 years will actually bear fruit, as the team appears primed for a return to the playoffs.
