Would you like to win a pair of tickets to the Kings game on Tuesday 10/6 vs. the Sharks? To kick off our first ever contest we're going to keep things pretty simple, yet still have some fun. We just posted a new poll on the right side of the homepage (MayorsManor.com) asking who will win the inaugural Eddie Joyal award. To win the tickets vote in the poll and reply to this post. Your comment below (which is your official entry) must be posted by 11:59 p.m. on Monday 9/21/09. Please note you must name a specific LA Kings player. If you select "Another Player" in the poll, please list your specific player in your comment. The winner of the tickets will be randomly selected from all correct answers posted as a comment below. Good luck!

Go Smyth!
ReplyDeleteHope I get those tickets so I can see Brownie nail Heatley!!!
ReplyDeleteFro!
ReplyDeleteJoyal was a center from the late 60's to early 70's. He played about 500 games, and had a little over 4 seasons with the Kings, and scored 20+ goals for a few seasons. Generally, he was a clean player.
ReplyDeleteOn that...
J. Johnson- not really a dirty player, but definitely not "clean". Some of his hits have looked dirty...
R. Smyth- clean doesn't quite fit for Smyth... gritty, yes
A. Frolov- clean? relatively clean. Although I have seen him take a few penalties that he shouldn't have, so he's close
A. Kopitar- he's plays the same position as Joyal, and he's not dirty by any stretch of my hockey imagination.
J. Williams- I haven't seen him play enough, so I can't compare him to the Wikipedia page on Joyal
T. Purcell- close comparison with the being bounced from the "A" to the show a couple of times. He'll hopefully pan out to a 20+ scorer in the near future (especially if he's put on the second line)
Using this logic, Kopi wins the award. So what does he win?
kopi will have tons of assists
ReplyDeleteJMFJ will lead the team in scoring.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna go with Justin Williams.
ReplyDeleteI am going to go with Justin Williams. He's off to a leading start in just a couple of games, and I expect to see that first line play the rest of the way possibly.
ReplyDeleteJack Johnson
ReplyDeleteWe had two correct guesses, Rink Rat and IELeftWinger. Both names were put in a hat and we drew a winner. IE gets the tickets. Contact me with your info so I can mail you the tickets. Congrats!
