Holiday Series - Gifts of Christmas Present

[Part two of a three part series]

Yesterday we posted the initial offering of this year's gift series using the theme from Charles Dickens' classic novel A Christmas Carol.

Our essential collection of Kings Gifts of Christmas Past included an inexpensive puck from the '60s, a $33,000 game worn Rogie Vachon mask, a few game worn jersey options, the coolest pair of LA Gear shoes ever made, the original pillow pet and a must have book for all Kings fans.

In part two of the series we look at the best-of-the-best Kings Gifts of Christmas Present...

Right out of the gate I'll admit something - I'm not a huge fan of mascots.  Yet, for some reason I think Bailey is hilarious.  He's one kool kat (insert rim shot).  There are wide variety of Bailey themed gifts out there - from plush dolls to bobbleheads to even ornaments.  Everybody has a kid or knows a kid.  So, pick up something Bailey oriented and watch their face light up when they open their gift.

Here's a few tips about buying jerseys:  First off, how to save money - 10 years ago there wasn't much of a difference between a replica jersey and an authentic one.  However, there are now noticeable differences (i.e. the shoulder patches are significantly different). One way to get around that is to order the third jersey pictured to the left.  It doesn't have shoulder patches.  Thus, the replica and authentic look almost identical - for less than half the price!  (available here)

Second tip - be sure you're getting authentic lettering if you go that route.  There are some horrible customized jerseys at each game.

Jewelry!  What woman doesn't love jewelry, right?  Luck for you, there are some quality Kings related jewelry pieces out there in both silver and gold.  The item to the left is a sterling silver pendant you can pick up for 30% off at this link.

Come on fellas - nothing says I LOVE YOU like hockey jewelry!

Don't worry ladies, I didn't forget about your gift buying needs.  We all know most guys would walk around in sweats and no shirt if it was socially acceptable...and they cant wear a jersey everywhere (even though some may try).  So, dress up the man in your life with a pair of Kings cuff links.  This item is available here for about 20% off and they're a guaranteed conversation starter when he's wearing his Sunday best.

Most of you probably either have or have had a subscription to The Hockey News - and that's fine.  This recommendation is for something totally different...The Fourth Period magazine - hockey's only lifestyle magazine.

It's not about stats and box scores.  Instead, think GQ meets Maxim meets ESPN Magazine.

It's dirt cheap to order (here for just $12 per year) and the full glossy mag will look great on your coffee table when friends come over.  If nothing else, just buy it for the covers.  To the left is the Kings cover.  However, a more recent issue with goalie Marc-Andre Fleury on the front is my fav.

Here comes the good stuff...

Fans of the Los Angeles Kings know one thing for sure about the team's history - goaltending hasn't been it's greatest strength.

The fine folks over at The Royal Half bring you the latest in goalie fashion wear...the netminders shirt - listing the finest the Kings have had to offer over the last 15 years.  (available here)

Something tells me they wont be crossing off that top name for quite some time.

In the time honored tradition of saving the best for last, here you go...

IN DEAN WE TRUST t-shirts brought to you exclusively from the MayorsManor store
