First Goal Game - LA Kings players submit their guesses

For the past few seasons we've hosted a 'First Goal Game' contest on twitter and facebook for LA Kings home and road games. Each night, one random winner is selected from all correct entries and a prize is awarded - things like t-shirts, game tickets, etc.

At practice yesterday we asked a few of the Kings players who they would pick in the first goal contest. The question was simple enough - looking around the room, yourself included, which player will score first vs. the Coyotes?

Here's what a few guys had to say...

Drew DoughtyStolly

Mike Richards - Kopitar

Dustin BrownDoughty

Dustin Penner - (after thinking about it for a few seconds...) "I think I'm going to get the first one."

Now...who do you think scores first vs. Phoenix tonight?

If it helps you at all, here some stats for a few of the forwards and defensemen. First is the number of goals they have, followed by the number of career games they've played against the Coyotes.

Brown 10 goals in 45 games, Doughty four in 19, Jack Johnson two in 26, Kopitar 10 in 36, Penner 12 in 29, Richards three in eight, Jarret Stoll nine in 33 and Justin Williams three in 25.

Submit your answer below and you could win a pair of tickets to the Kings' Meet the Players Party being held next week.

Entering is easy, either log in via the website or use your facebook profile.

Good luck!

The Mayor

  1. Going with Richards. He wants a goal.

  2. Martinez needs to get one, why not the first one?

  3. Alec Martinez. His time is tonight. Goal #3 will be tonight.

  4. First goal......Richardson. Why not?

  5. Dustin Brown!!

  6. Williams been working hard. Going to get one.

  7. Thanks to all who played. Drew Doughty scored the first goal last night. Thus, the winner of the contest isn't going to come from the above list. We'll check the other entries and see who wins the tickets. Try again on Saturday though becasue we'll have another pair to give away.
